13-Day Heartbeat Requirement
Why WhatsApp Coexistence requires opening the mobile app every 13 days and how Dualhook helps you stay compliant.
Why the 13-Day Heartbeat Matters
WhatsApp Coexistence requires that someone on your team opens the WhatsApp Business mobile app at least once every 13 days. This heartbeat confirms to Meta that the mobile app is still actively in use alongside the Cloud API. If the 13-day window lapses, Meta may stop delivering Cloud API webhooks for that phone number.
Why Dualhook Cannot Track This Automatically
Because Dualhook's privacy-first architecture routes all messages directly to your server via Webhook Override, Dualhook never sees message traffic. This means Dualhook has no way to detect whether the mobile app has been opened. The heartbeat must be acknowledged manually by your team.
How Dualhook Helps You Stay on Track
Dualhook provides several tools to prevent missed heartbeats:
- Dashboard badges showing the number of days remaining until the next heartbeat is due.
- Email reminders sent via Resend as the deadline approaches.
- One-click acknowledgment button in the dashboard to reset the 13-day timer after opening the app.
Best Practice
Assign a team member to open the WhatsApp Business mobile app on a regular schedule — ideally weekly. When they have confirmed the app is open, click the acknowledgment button in Dualhook to reset the timer. This simple routine keeps your Coexistence configuration healthy.
